Backstreet Boys at "E´s Daily 10" - 20.08.2009

KTU’s Beatstock 2009: Backstreet Boys, V Factory, Cascada & more

StarShine had a front row spot at Jones Beach on August 16th for KTU’s dance extravaganza known as Beatstock. KTU is New York’s freestyle and dance radio station. Beatstock delivered artists that have been in their rotation for years as well as newbies! The line-up included club legend Amuka who performed her hit “Appreciate me” and Kelly Rowland as well as Pitbull who’s responsible for the hit of the summer “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” and Kevin Rudolf performing his smash “Let It Rock”. New to the scene were opening acts Gia Bella who showed her abilities with a set of backup dancers and a good beat backing her, Chris Willis and V Factory. The up & coming boy band showed they could party with the rest of the acts by showing off their high enery choreography and fun songs like “Love Struck”, “Lights Camera Action” and “Get Up”. The highlight of the night for many girls of all ages were the Backstreet Boys! Some KTU listeners were surprised to hear the pop icons would be appearing at a concert a little out of their realm. However, with their new single “Straight Through My Heart” now in rotation on KTU, Backstreet’s back with a new flavor! The song has a dance beat and BSB tried out their new choreography for the crowd at Jones Beach–we ate it up with a spoon! Their moves have evolved and from the sound of it, so has their music. They’ve worked on a slew of top producers like T-Pain and RedOne for their upcoming album This Is Us dropping on October 6th. The group also performed hits “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” and “I Want It That Way” before catching an early flight out of New York. Beatstock also treated their devout concertgoers to a special tribut to Michael Jackson as well as a bunch of artists performing their old freestyle hits like Cynthia (”Only In My Dreams”) and Rockell (”In A Dream”). Ils en ont fait du chemin depuis leur début dans les années 1990 ! Si, en général, la carrière des boys bands ne dure qu'un temps, celle des Backstreet Boys fait figure d'exception. Car, treize ans après leur premier album éponyme paru en 1996, les Américains sont toujours là et remettent le couvert avec un nouvel album intitulé This Is Us, à paraître à la rentrée.
